It is planned to start the '2024 Samaposha Provincial School Sports Festival' which will be held in the 5 provinces of North Central, North West, East, Uva and South. It is also special that 18,000 sportspersons are scheduled to join this year's Provincial School Games.
The provincial school sports festival will be held again this year with the empowerment of Samaposha, the most popular cereal food in the country, which is the flagship product of school game, a subsidiary of CBL.
It is stated that this sports festival is planned to be held separately from August to September 13 with 5 provinces as the base. Athletes representing over 2000 schools will compete in over 70 events.
The Uva Provincial Games will be held at the Badulla Vincent Diaz Stadium from August 21st to 24th as the first sports festival.The second sports festival, the Southern Province Games, is scheduled to be held at Matara Kotwila Stadium from 27th to 30th of August. As the third Games, the Eastern Province Games will be held from the 5th to the 9th of September at the Weber Stadium in Batticaloa.The North West Provincial Games will be held from the 7th to the 11th of September at the Kurunegala Welagedara Stadium. The final sports event, the North Central Province Games, is scheduled to be held from 10th to 13th September at the Anuradhapura Public Stadium.
