According to foreign media reports, Victoria Lara Secondary College became the first school to introduce cricket as a formal subject rather than a mere extra-curricular activity.

Lara Secondary College has introduced cricket as a formal subject as part of the relationship between the Victoria State Cricket Institute and the Academy.

It is also stated that their aim is to bring the sport into the classroom without leaving it as an extra-curricular activity. The aim of the Victoria Academy is to teach cricket to students in schools in the state of Victoria.

It was stated in the relevant reports that they will also provide special cricket training in the schools of the state of Victoria up to the 7th grade.

Students will complete knowledge related to key areas including referees, coaches, sports psychology, sports filming and first aid while working to ensure sports and entertainment.
