Sri Lanka fast bowler Binura Fernando said that he is happy as a team for being able to win the third and final Twenty20 match against the New Zealand team. Addressing the press conference held after the third Twenty20 match, Binura made the following comments.

The Sri Lankan fast bowler who also commented there further said as follows. "We really needed a win. However, I am happy to win the final match and end the T20 series with a win. New Zealand also played at a very high level in this match.
However, New Zealand is happy to be able to control this situation. Apart from that, we are also happy to be able to finally achieve victory as a team.'
In response to a question raised at the press conference about the Sri Lanka-New Zealand T20 series taking a sharp turn and losing the victory in the first match, he said, 'It can be said that both teams were very balanced in this tournament.Even though we came very close from the first match, we could not win. After that, we practiced as a group with more focus. So happy to be able to win the final match.
Also, I think that the rhythm gained from this victory will be able to be carried to one-day Tarawali as well.'' he said.
Commenting on the New Zealand pitches, Binura said this. New Zealand pitches are very favorable to fast bowlers. It has speed and great burst. We also hoped that the pitches would have more grass and bounce. But in such situations, we can achieve successful results by trusting our skills and bowling in the right direction.'
Binura also commented on Kusal Janith's T20 century. 'If my memory is correct, it was only after 13 or 14 years that a Sri Lankan batsman scored 20-20 centuries. It was a great innings. Also Kusal Janith Perera is a fantastic batsman at all times. And when he's in rhythm, no one can stop him. Also, I believe he will maintain this rhythm in all T20 matches throughout the year 2025.'
