Foreign media reported yesterday (08th) that New Zealand cricketer Martin Guptill has decided to retire from international cricket.
38-year-old Martil Guptill entered the international cricket field in 2009 and has managed to score 2586 runs in 47 Test matches, 7346 runs in 198 ODI matches and 3531 runs in 122 T20 matches. Martil Guptill's 3531 runs in T20I can be called the highest number of runs scored by a New Zealand player.He has managed to score 23 international centuries in his 14-year career.
Martil Guptill was able to perform excellently for the New Zealand team in the 2015 and 2019 World Cups.The 237 runs scored against the West Indies in the 2015 World Cup can be called the third highest score scored by a batsman in an ODI. The last time an international match was played was the T20 against Bangladesh on October 12, 2022.
Even though Martil Guptill has retired from international cricket, he is going to play in foreign franchise leagues for domestic matches in the future.
