Sports Deputy Minister Sugath Thilakaratne said that the Northern Sports Complex in Kilinochchi will be repaired soon for the athletes of the Northern Province.He said this while speaking to the media after inspecting the current condition of the Kilinochchila Northern Province Sports Complex owned by the Ministry of Sports.
The deputy minister inspected the outdoor stadiums, indoor stadiums, fitness center and swimming pool.
The Deputy Minister of Sports observed that despite the completion of the work in 2017, the sports complex has become unable to be used properly in a very short period of time due to quality issues.He said that work will be done to restore the sports complex for the children in all the districts of the Northern Province. On this occasion, officials of the sports complex, officials of the Sports Development Division of the Sports Ministry and a group of local athletes and parents also joined.
