In the preliminary round of the Asia Cup cricket tournament, the Indian team recorded an easy 40-run win against the Hong Kong and qualified for the Super Team 4 round of the tournament.
In this match
held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Hong Kong who won the toss and
invite India to bat fist and India scored 192 runs for 2 wickets at the end of
20 overs. But in reply Hong Kong could only get 152 for 5 in their 20 overs.
Babar Hayat,
who launched a fighting knock for the Hong Kong team, scored 41 runs while
Kinchit Sha scored 30 runs. In the last half of the innings, Zeeshan Ali, who
launched a fierce battle, scored 26 runs not out. While bowling for the Indian
team, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshadeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja and Avesh Khan took
one wicket each.
Here,
Suryakumar Yadav, who played a brilliant batting for the India, hit 6 fours and
6 sixes each and scored unbeaten 68 runs off only 26 balls, while Virat Kohli
scored 59 runs remain unbeaten. Lokesh Rahul was out for 36 runs. Rohit Sharma
could collect only 21. While bowling for the Hong Kong, Ayush Shukla and
Mohammad Ghasanfar took one wicket each.
However, the
192 runs scored by the Indian team at the end of their 20 overs is the highest
number of runs recorded by a team in this year's Asia Cup T20 cricket
tournament so far.
Meanwhile,
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was rested from this match.
