The All Island Under 18 seven-a-side rugby tournament will be conducted on March 4 and 5 in Kandy by Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association.
The first day will see the matches being played at Pallekelle and Bogambara while the final day’s action will shift to Bogambara Stadium. The last event took place in 2019 before the Covid pandemic.St. Peter’s are the defending champion of this event and there will be 32 teams locking horns playing for the Cup, Plate, Bowl and Shield. The other significant fact is that this tournament will provide a yard stick for the national selectors with the 2023 Youth Commonwealth Games Sevens Rugby Tournament scheduled for August in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
There will be no official sponsors and Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SSRFA) will conduct the event.
