D. Samson & Company Pvt Ltd (DSI) management has decided to sponsor the Sri Lanka Schools Supersports 2023 Volleyball Tournament for the 21st consecutive time.

This is the only volleyball tournament organized at the national level with the participation of the largest number of schools in Sri Lanka. The Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB) and Sri Lanka Schools Volleyball Association (SLSVA) are jointly organising this tournament. Organizers as well as sponsors expect more than 5,000 school volleyball teams to participate in this tournament which will be conducted in five age groups (U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19).

The closing date for accepting entries is April 25 with the organisers having started accepting applications from March 28. The district level matches of the tournament will start from May 13-14 and the District champion and runner-up teams will qualify for the Province level matches. SLVB has made arrangements to hold Province Level matches from June 1 to August 13. The National Level tournament is planned to be held from August 29 to September 3 and the final matches will be held on September 23 and 24 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo, it was revealed at a press conference held yesterday (28) under the chairmanship of SLVB President Kanchana Jayarathna and DSI Managing Director Thusitha Rajapksha. The DSI Supersports Volleyball Tournament has been running since 1999. A large number of athletes have been introduced at the national and international level based on their performance at this tournament.
