The outdated football constitution is to be amended by majority vote

A special general meeting was held today to amend the constitution of the Sri Lanka Football Federation and to fix the date for the election.

According to the report, the new constitution of the football federation has been adopted by majority vote. There, 48 votes were received in favor of the clause regarding giving 3 votes instead of one vote for one league in the constitution and no votes were expressed against it. Also, 13 people have abstained from voting. The number of votes in favor of all other clauses except that clause is 61. No vote against it was declared.

Two special representatives of the International Football Federation and the special representative of the Asian Football Confederation were also present for this special general meeting.

Moreover, it has also been decided to hold the Sri Lanka Football Federation election on the 23rd of October.
