The Sri Lanka Youth Beach Volleyball team lost 2-0 in the first match of this 2023 Commonwealth Youth Sports Festival against the host country Trinidad and Tobago, with the score of 19-21 and 15-21.

  It is a really sad incident that after a long flight of 45 hours, our youths who had to go to the match within a few hours, had to lose to strong competitors in such a fatal way. At the same time, the coach of the team is still in the middle of his journey. He is scheduled to join the team today.

The fact that these young athletes had to go to the matches at the 11.00 AM due to flight ticket problems is something that really should not have happened.

Next  match for our young beach volleyball players is against Cyprus, representing the European region.
