Last year 2023 was a very auspicious year for the women's cricket team because of the decision made by the well-known ESPN Cricinfo website for the unbeaten 140 scored by Chamari Athapattu against New Zealand in the women's cricket one-day innings.
ESPN Cricinfo has awarded the best player of the year covering all formats of women's and men's cricket, and the official results list was announced today (20).
Accordingly, the 140 runs scored by the Sri Lankan team captain Chamari, who chased a target of 196 runs in the match against New Zealand in relation to the year 2023, has been selected.
Chamari's innings showed his best support to win the ODI series for the first time in the history of Sri Lanka against the New Zealand team and the innings was colorful with 9 sixes and 13 fours. The attack rate of the innings was very high at 175.
