In the Super 12 round of the T20 World Cup, the Sri Lanka managed to record a 6-wicket victory against Afghanistan

Afghanistan won the toss and batted first and scored 144 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Wneh bowling, Wanindu Hasaranga took 3 wickets, Lahiru Kumara took 2 wickets and Kasun Rajitha and Dhananjaya de Silva managed to take one wicket each.

In reply Sri Lanka managed to pass their winning target in 19 overs while losing only 4 wickets.

Dhananjaya de Silva, who led Sri Lanka to victory with the bat, scored an unbeaten 66 runs. Kusal Mendis gone for quick 25. Banuka Rajapakse scored 18 and  Charith Asalanka 19.
