Today (18th), the Sri Lankan squad for the T20 tournament, which will be held in connection with the Sri Lankan team's tour of New Zealand, was officially announced by the Cricket Institute.
As usual, the number of members included in this squad, led by Charit Sasanka, is 16. It is special that Dinesh Chandimal and Kushal Janith Perera have had opportunities there.Also, steps have been taken to call the young all-rounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe to the Sri Lanka squad in this tournament instead of former Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka.
Sri Lanka's tour of New Zealand includes 3 Twenty20 matches and 3 One Day International cricket matches.
The first T20 match is scheduled to be held on 28th of this month at Toronga and the second match will be held at Toronga on 30th. The third and final Twenty20 match is scheduled to be held in Nelson on January 2.
The first match of the 3-match ODI series will be held in Wellington on January 5th. The second match is scheduled to be held on January 8 in Hamilton and the third match on January 11 in Auckland.
However, it is also special that the Sri Lankan squad for the one-day tournament has not been officially announced yet.
