Applications are now being invited for the Northern Province All Ceylon Open Badminton Championship organized by the Northern Province Badminton Association under the approval of the Sri Lanka Badminton Institute.

It is expected that all the leading badminton players in the country will participate in this four-day championship which will be held from 16th to 19th of January next year at Omantei Vavuniya District Sports Complex.
The Northern Province All Ceylon Open Badminton Championship will be held in different age groups from under 11 years to under 19 years junior category and from above 30 years to above 70 years senior category.The main event will be the open division, which will include women's and men's singles, doubles and mixed doubles events.
After the opening ceremony of this championship is held on January 16 at 9:00 am, the preliminary round matches will begin, and the matches will be held on January 18 until the quarter-finals and semi-finals.Alignment will be done on January 10th.
Cash prizes of Rs 7,50,000 will be awarded to the winners of this championship, besides trophies, medals and certificates will be awarded to the champions, runners-up and semi-finalists in all categories.According to the decision of the organizing committee of the tournament, arrangements have been made to give valuable prizes to the winners of the junior competition section instead of cash prizes.
