England's 'Wisden' magazine, which is considered to be the world's leading cricket magazine, had announced the completed ODI team for the year 2024.

It is special that steps have been taken to add three Sri Lankan players.
Steps have been taken to name the ODI team this year based on the performance of the ODI players in the completed 2024.Accordingly, opening batsman Pathum Nissanka, wicket-keeper Kusal Mendis and all-rounder Vanindu Hasaranga, who showed excellent performance in the ODI field last year, have been included in the Wisden ODI team of the year.
Pathum Nissanka, who ended 2024 with an ODI double century and amassed 694 ODI runs, was the most successful international opener in that year. Apart from that, Kusal Mendis, who was named as the wicket keeper of that team, also performed well with the bat and collected 742 runs in that year.
In addition, Vanindu Hasaranga has been named in the Wisden ODI team of 2024 as the most successful leg spinner of the year. However, the total number of wickets Vanindu had taken in the year 2024 was 26.
In addition to Sri Lanka, this team includes two players from Pakistan, two players from Afghanistan, two players from West Indies, one player each from England and Bangladesh.
However, it is also remarkable that no English or Australian player has received a mandate to join the Eknadi team in 2024.
