It is reported that steps have been taken to name an initial squad of 32 players for the Under-19 World Cup to be held in Sri Lanka.

Only Malsha Tharupathi, who joined the Under-19 World Cup last year, is included in this squad, and Vihas Thevmika of Thurston College, a young fast bowler who performed exceptionally well in the school cricket field recently, is also included in this squad.
