The Indian team won by 67 runs in the first ODI match between the visiting Sri Lankan and the Indian team. India lead the series 1-0.

The Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and invited the Indians  to bat first and they managed to score 373 runs by losing 7 wickets in their 50 overs. In batting for India, Virat Kohli scored 113 runs, Rohit Sharma scored 83 runs and Shubman Gill scored 70 runs.

In bowling, Kasun Rajitha took 3 wickets, Dilshan Madusanka, Chamika Karunaratne, Dasun Shanaka and Dhananjaya de Silva managed to take one wicket each.

In reply  Sri Lankans only able to score only 306 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 50 overs.

For Sri Lanka, Dasun Shanaka scored unbeaten 108 runs, in 88 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixers. Pathum Nissanka scored 72 runs and Dhananjaya de Silva scored 47 runs for the Sri Lanka.
