Ecuador record a 2-0 victory over the hosts Qatar in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup 2022. Also, this is the first time that the host country lost the opening match of a FIFA World Cup history.
Ecuador could have scored a goal in the 3rd
minute of this match the referees decided that it was not a correctly scored
goal. After that, in the 16th minute, Enner Valencia was able to score the first goal for
Ecuador with a successful penalty kick.
After that, Valencia managed to score his
second goal in the 31st minute, putting Ecuador in the lead by 2-0 at the end
of the first half.
Neither team was able to score any goals in
the second half and thus Ecuador won the match by 2-0.
