The Sri Lankan ODI team left Zimbabwe to participate in the 2023 ODI World cup qualifying tournament today.

Before this qualifying tournament, the Sri Lanka is scheduled to join for 2 worm-up matches. The first worm-up game will be held on the 13th against the Netherlands and the second against the USA team on the 15th.

The qualifying round of the 2023 World Cup One Day Cricket Tournament will begin on the 18th. The first match where Sri Lanka will play is scheduled to be held on the 19th with the UAE team.

Speaking to the media before leaving for the qualifying tournament, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka said that he has full confidence in the team and therefore believes that Sri Lanka can win this tournament. Dasun also said that it is a pity that the Sri Lankan team has not played well in the last few years and had to enter a qualifying round.
