The Kelaniya Gurukula College Under-19 cricket team, which showcased outstanding performances during the 2024/25 school cricket tournament, was honored in a special appreciation ceremony held yesterday (1st) morning.

The event was organized by the Gurukula College Old Boys’ Association. A total of 19 players from the Under-19 team, the head coach, two assistant coaches, and the cricket-in-charge teacher were felicitated.

Dr. Kusala Fernando, the principal of Kelaniya Gurukula College, participated as the chief guest for the occasion.

The Gurukula Under-19 first XI cricket team advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the 2024/25 school limited-over cricket tournament by defeating several top-ranking school cricket teams in Sri Lanka.
