The Sri Lankan team managed to win the Asian Netball Championship by defeating the dominant Singapore 63-53. This is the second consecutive time that Sri Lanka has won the Asian Netball Championship.

Accordingly, it is special that the Sri Lankan team won the second quarter with 14-11 points after losing 19-13 points in the first quarter of the final match held with Singapore. In the third quarter, the Sri Lankan team returned to their usual rhythm and managed to win it by 19-08. After that, Sri Lanka won the decisive fourth round with 17-15 points and won the Asian netball crown.

The Asian Netball Championship was not held in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Sri Lankan team had won the championship last year in 2018.
