Foreign media had reported that New Zealand fast bowler Molly Penfold has been removed from the ODI and T20 cricket series being held with the Sri Lankan women's cricket team.
Accordingly, the New Zealand Cricket Administration had announced that she will miss the tournament with Sri Lanka and the tournament with the touring Australia team due to a knee injury.
During a match held in the first week of this month in relation to the New Zealand domestic cricket tournament, Molly had suffered a knee injury in her left leg. After that, she even had to undergo a surgery to cure the related disorder.However, the doctor's recommendation is that it will take about 12 weeks for Molly's injury to heal. Accordingly, the New Zealand Cricket administration has decided to remove her from both the above tournaments.
Meanwhile, it is reported that New Zealand captain Sophie Devine has withdrawn from the tournament with Sri Lanka.It is special that she has taken this decision considering her personal health condition.
