Three Sri Lankan athletes—two men and one woman—are set to participate in the 2025 Taiwan Open Athletics Championship. The Sri Lankan team departed from the country early yesterday (June 5) to compete in the event.

The championship is scheduled to take place on June 7 and 8 in Taipei, and it is recognized as part of the World Athletics “World Continental Tour – Bronze” category.

The athletes representing Sri Lanka are:
Chamod Yodhasinghe (Men’s 100m)
Lesandu Arthavidu (Men’s High Jump)
Dilhani Lekamge (Women’s Javelin Throw)
They will be accompanied by Asanka Rajakaruna, who will serve as both coach and team manager.

Originally, Aruna Darshana, Kalinga Kumarage, and Nishendra Fernando were also scheduled to take part in the tournament, but had to withdraw due to injuries and illness.
