Foreign media reports that Ugandan marathon champion Rebecca Cheptegi, who participated in the selected French Olympic Games, has been set on fire.

Accordingly, 33-year-old Rebecca's Ex-boyfriend used petrol and set her on fire. It is said that Rebecca's body suffered severe burns due to this unfortunate incident that happened last Sunday.

The deceased was attacked after returning to his home after attending church service last Sunday in the north-western region of Kenya. Foreign media have reported that Rebecca and her ex-boyfriend have been involved in a dispute over a portion of the warehouse.

However, in the last few years, female athletes have had to face this kind of incident in Uganda, and after 2021, Rebecca joins the records as the third international tennis player to die in Uganda.
