Two of Sri Lanka's leading motor racing champions, Dilantha Malagamuwa and Ashan Silva, are scheduled to participate in the 'GT2 European motor racing series' to be held in 2024. It was mentioned in a recent press conference that one has to bear a huge cost to join the tournament.
Dilantha Malagamuwa and Ashan Silva said there that they will have to bear a high cost of 3 lakh Euros per year and they expect the support of the sports fans for that.
Motor racing champion Dilantha Malagamuwa who spoke at the press conference said, "For the first time I am participating in an international tournament with another Sri Lankan athlete. According to Ashan, a runner with great talent. Accordingly, Ashan and I are the European 'G.T. 2' is expected to join the tournament. There are 6 rounds of 12 matches in 6 countries.However, Sri Lanka has been given a lot of respect in many sports including cricket. Accordingly, Sri Lanka has gained more respect through sports. Also I don't know how many more years I can stay in the game. Therefore, I thought that one of our players should be brought forward. I feel that Ashan Silva is the most suitable player for that. Therefore, we decided to participate in the tournament with everyone's help.We hope for the support of Sri Lankans living in our country as well as abroad. Also this year both Ashan and I won the European GT. 2' It is possible to compete for the championship and win and bring the championship to Sri Lanka. Accordingly, I request everyone to help put the name of our country at the top in this tournament where the world's richest players come together." said.
