The third and final T20I match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh started this afternoon. The Sri Lankan team was able to win by 28 runs in the third T20I match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh due to the sharp bowling of Nuwan Thushara and the testing batting of Kusal Mendis who destroyed the Bangladesh first order.
Thus, the Sri Lankan team managed to win the T20I series which consisted of three matches between the two countries by 2/1.
The Sri Lankan batsmen, who entered the field to bat first at the invitation of the Bangladesh captain who won the toss of the match held at the 'Sylhet' stadium in Bangladesh, managed to score 174 runs by losing 7 wickets at the end of the scheduled 20 overs.
Kusal Mendis, who entered the field as the opening batsman, started the Sri Lankan innings and scored a quick 86 runs from 55 balls, which included 6 sixes and 6 fours.
Here, Dasun Shanaka entered the field in the last few overs of the innings and managed to score 19 quick runs from 9 balls.
Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets for 25 runs and Rishad Hussain took 2 wickets for 35 runs.
Then the Bangladesh players entered the field to play the reply innings of 175 runs and they could collect only 146 runs in 19 overs and 4 balls.
Nuwan Thushara, who came to bowl in the fourth over, smashed the first line of Bangladesh's batting line-up and managed to record three excellent wickets by defeating Bangladesh captain Najmul Santo, Tawhid Hiridoi and Mahamadullah in the second, third and fourth balls of that over.
This became the sixth hat-trick taken by a Sri Lankan bowler in an international T20I match.
There, Thushara gave only 20 runs in his 4 overs and took 5 wickets to cripple the Bangladesh innings and it became a highlight that this was the 6th time that a Sri Lankan bowler had shown such skill.
However, Rishad Hussain, who launched a fighting innings for Bangladesh, scored a quick 53 runs in 30 balls with 7 sixes, but it was not enough for the victory. Taskin Ahmed 31 off 21 balls.
Wanidu Hasaranga bowled 4 overs and took 2 wickets for 32 runs.
Nuwan Tusharath won the Man of the Match award and Kusal Mendis won the Man of the Tournament award.
With this, out of the 5 T20I tournaments held so far between the two countries, only one tournament ended in a tie, and Sri Lanka won the remaining 4 tournaments and managed to remain undefeated and protect the name of the country.
All arrangements have been made to start the first match of the next one-day cricket tournament with Bangladesh on the 13th in Chittagong.
