It is reported that former Sri Lankan cricketer Dulip Samaraweera has been banned from cricket for 20 years by Cricket Australia.

Accordingly, this cricket ban has been imposed due to the conviction of a serious abuse charge against a female player. During that time, Dulip Samaraweera will not have the opportunity to hold any position in Austria Cricket.The ban has been imposed due to Samaraweera's inappropriate behavior during his tenure at Cricket Victoria and breach of the Cricket Victoria State Cricket Association's Code of Conduct.
52-year-old Dulip Samaraweera played for Sri Lanka from 1993 to 1995. During that period, he has played 7 Tests and 5 ODIs for Sri Lanka.
At the time of the accusation against Dulip, he was also working as the coach of the Victoria state women's cricket team.
