Organized under the auspices of the Sri Lanka Karate-Do Federation and in collaboration with the Asian and South Asian Karate-Do Federations, the South Asian Karate-Do Championship is scheduled to be held in Colombo from July 2.

Coinciding with this event, Asian Judge and Coach Examinations will also be held in Sri Lanka, marking a significant milestone for local and regional karate development.

Registration for participating athletes, judges, and coaches for both the championship and the examinations will take place on July 2 in Colombo. The Asian Judge and Coach Examinations are set to be conducted on July 3 and 4 at the Ramada Hotel in Colombo.

The main championship events will take place on July 5 and 6 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo.

Over 500 athletes representing South Asian countries are expected to compete, with the Sri Lankan team comprising 190 athletes.

Competitions will be held across multiple age categories: under 10, under 12, under 14, under 15, under 17, and 21, as well as senior levels. Events will be conducted in both Kata and Kumite, including individual and team categories, which adds a distinctive appeal to the tournament.
