A media briefing regarding the upcoming ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ Cycling Rally was recently held under the patronage of Minister of Youth and Sports Sunil Kumara Gamagedara at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The rally is organized under the Clean Sri Lanka initiative launched by the current government, in collaboration with the National Sports Week and supervised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This annual cycling event is scheduled to take place on July 26, starting near the Ministry premises in Colombo.

This initiative, inspired by Minister Sunil Kumara Gamagedara, aims to raise public interest in cycling—an activity recognized in over 200 countries globally—while also promoting a vibrant sports culture in Sri Lanka.

Anyone over the age of 8 years, in good health, whether local or foreign, is eligible to participate. The event includes various distance categories ranging up to 100 kilometers, with shorter rides of 50 km, 25 km, 10 km, and 5 km also available.

Participants must register by July 15, and those who complete their selected distance will receive an official certificate of participation.
