Sri Lanka lost by 113 runs in the second match of the 3-match ODI series between the touring Sri Lankan team and New Zealand. In the press conference held after this match held the day before yesterday (8th) in Hamilton, New Zealand, Mahish Thiekshana said that the match was lost due to mistakes made as a team.Commenting accordingly, Mahish Thiekshana said:
"We didn't play our game properly. We made that mistake in both games. We made a lot of mistakes in both matches. Whether consciously or unconsciously, we as a group were weakened by it.So we gave up the game. But I hope to play well in the next match and get back to winning ways."
Teekshana gave this answer to the question of how New Zealand's bowling affected the loss of the match.
"New Zealand's bowlers bowled well in both matches. Those guys played well with the situation of that country. But our batsmen could have done better. Even if we keep losing, we hope to win the next game with a good plan."
Mahish Thiekshana answered a question about the three wickets taken in the match.
"Personally happy to get three wickets in a country like New Zealand. But if we had won the match, that happiness would have been even greater."
