The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the official schedule for the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup. The tournament will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. It will feature a total of 31 matches — including 28 group-stage matches, 2 semi-finals, and the final.
The opening match will be held on September 30, between Sri Lanka and India in Bangalore, India. The third match of the tournament — and the first match to be played in Sri Lanka — will take place on October 2 between Bangladesh and Pakistan in Colombo.
The teams participating in this year’s tournament are Sri Lanka, India, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Pakistan, England, and South Africa. Each team will play six group-stage matches. Accordingly, Sri Lanka is scheduled to play:
Sept 30 – vs India in Bangalore
Oct 4 – vs Australia in Colombo
Oct 11 – vs England in Guwahati
Oct 14 – vs New Zealand in Colombo
Oct 17 – vs South Africa in Colombo
Oct 20 – vs Bangladesh in Colombo
Oct 24 – vs Pakistan in Colombo
Following the ICC Champions Trophy agreement between India and Pakistan, if Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals or the final, those matches will be held in Colombo.
The group-stage matches will be held from September 30 to October 26 across venues in Bangalore, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam (India) and Colombo (Sri Lanka).
The first semi-final will be held in Colombo or Guwahati
The second semi-final will be in Bangalore
The final is scheduled to take place in either Bangalore or Colombo.
