The Sri Lanka Junior Table Tennis Team, which achieved second place at the 2025 South Asian Junior Table Tennis Championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal from April 24 to April 27, met with Minister of Youth and Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage on May 22, 2025.

Demonstrating exceptional talent throughout the tournament, the Sri Lankan team secured 2 silver medals and 8 bronze medals, earning them the overall runner-up position in the championship.

During the meeting, the Minister appreciated the team’s dedication and hard work, praised their remarkable performances, and emphasized the importance of strategic preparation for future international events.

The Minister also extended his best wishes to the players as they qualified to compete in the upcoming Asian Junior Table Tennis Championship scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in June 2025.

The event was attended by Director General of the Department of Sports Development Shemal Fernando, Head Coach Chathura Dushan, team members, and their parents.
