It has been reported that the Indian team will not visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy ODI series scheduled to be held in 2025.
Accordingly, the Indian cricket administration has now taken steps to officially inform the International Cricket Council of this decision. It has been stated that the Indian government has given instructions to the Indian cricket administration not to include the Indian national cricket team in the match tour of Pakistan for the Champions Trophy
However, the 2025 Champions Cup One Day Cricket Tournament has already been planned to be held in 3 stadiums in Pakistan from the 9th of February to the 9th of March.
Due to this, the final decision regarding the holding of the respective tournament will be taken in a discussion consisting of officials of ICC, Asian Cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket Board.
It is also indicated that there is more possibility of holding the tournament this year under a hybrid model. That is, the matches in which India joins in the Champions Trophy will be held in another country under the hosting of Pakistan and all other matches will be held in Pakistan as planned.
It was also stated that if it is decided to hold it as a hybrid tournament, it will be held in Sri Lanka or the United Arab Emirates.
