The 97th National Boxing Championship, organized by the Sri Lanka Boxing Association, is scheduled to be held from 23rd to 26th January 2025 at the Galle Mudoora Grounds in Colombo.

Special competitors who have won the Novice, Intermediate, Stubbs Shield and National Junior tournaments will participate in this tournament. Accordingly, preliminary matches will be held from the 23rd to the 25th, and the finals will be held on the 26th.
In this year's tournament, competitions will be held under 13 weight classes in the men's division and 12 weight classes in the women's division. Medals and certificates will be awarded to the winners of the competitions, and special awards will be presented for the best player, best loser, best player and best loser.
In the tournament, the team that wins the men's championship will be awarded the Sergeant Selladorai Memorial Cup, and the team that wins the women's championship will be awarded the Niva Ammudeniya Challenge Cup. Also, the Muttiah Xavier Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the most successful club in the previous year (2024).
In the National Boxing Championship held in 2024, Army player Chamil Pathmasiri and Air Force player Ishara Thushari won the awards as the best player.
This year, only 125 competitors will participate in the tournament representing about 20 sports clubs.
