The Eastern Province All Ceylon Open Badminton Championship, conducted by the Eastern Province Badminton Association under the supervision of the Sri Lanka Badminton Institute, is scheduled to be held at the Batticaloa Indoor Sports Complex from tomorrow (23rd) to the 27th.This will be held as a tournament of the first category of national badminton ranking, and it is expected that all the athletes who are at the forefront of ranking under various categories will participate.

The Eastern Province All Ceylon Open Badminton Championship will include Junior Age Group from Under 11 to Under 19 Years, Senior Age Group from Above 30 Years to Above 70 Years, Combined Age Group of 100 Years with Women's and Men's Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles competitions. Division competition category included.Apart from this, the tournament will also include a championship event for the losers of the semifinals in the women's and men's singles division.
The opening ceremony of the Eastern Province All Ceylon Open Badminton Championship will be held tomorrow at 9.00 am, after which the preliminary rounds will begin.The matches will be held on January 26 until the semi-finals and semi-finals. The exciting semi-finals and finals will take place on January 27, with the closing ceremony scheduled for that afternoon.
Cash prizes of Rs.7,50,000 have been awarded to the winners of the Eastern Province All Ceylon Open Badminton Championship, apart from this, trophies, medals and certificates will be awarded to all the winners and runners-up.
According to the decision of the organizing committee of the tournament, arrangements have been made to give valuable prizes to the winners of the junior section instead of cash prizes.
