Sri Lanka was able to win both the men's and women's championships at the Asian Throwball Championship hosted by Indonesia on the 3rd.The two-day tournament featured men's and women's teams representing hosts Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Malaysia.
The first match in the men's section was against Malaysia, which Sri Lanka won 3-2.Sri Lanka then won the match between the hosts Indonesia men's team and the Sri Lanka men's team 3-2. Accordingly, India faced Sri Lanka in the final match of the tournament.The Sri Lankan men's team won that match 3-2 to claim the men's championship.
In the women's section of the tournament, Malaysia played Sri Lanka in the first match.Sri Lanka won that match 3-2, while the second match was also won by Sri Lanka 3-2 against the host Indonesian women's team.Sri Lanka then qualified for the final of the women's tournament, defeating India 3-2, thus winning the women's championship.
