Trinity College, Kandy, and Isipathana College, Colombo, have qualified for the grand final of the Presidential Cup Inter-School Knockout Rugby Tournament. The final match is scheduled to take place on the afternoon of the 18th at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The defending champions, Isipathana College, have made it to the grand final for the 27th time — a remarkable achievement. They secured their place in the final by defeating Royal College, Colombo, in the second semifinal held recently.

Isipathana dominated from the very start of the match. By the end of the first half, they had already scored 21 points through 3 tries and 3 conversions, while Royal College managed only a single try. In the second half, Royal showed some resurgence, scoring 2 more tries and a conversion to add 17 points in total, but it was not enough to secure victory.

Isipathana concluded the match with 3 tries, 3 conversions, and a penalty, accumulating a total of 24 points and securing a comfortable win. Nimantha Sandeep of Isipathana College was awarded the Best Player of the Match.

In the other semifinal, Trinity College, Kandy, defeated Zahira College, Colombo, with a score of 29–12 to earn their spot in the final. The first half ended evenly with both teams tied at 12 points each. However, in the second half, Trinity adopted an aggressive and dominant playing style, scoring 4 tries, 3 conversions, and a penalty to bring their tally to 29 points. Zahira, in contrast, only added 12 points through 2 tries and a conversion.
